'Pakistan, Iran have deep-rooted economic ties'

Caretaker Punjab Law Minister Shams Mehmood Mirza has said that Pakistan and Iran have deep-rooted trade and economic relations, which will strengthen with the passage of time. He expressed these views while talking to Iranian Consul General in Lahore Muhammad Hussain Bani Asadi, disclosed an official here on Friday.
He said continuity in democracy in Pakistan will improve bilateral relations and economic ties with other countries. "Pak-Iran relations have historical and cultural significance and both countries are playing an important role in solving international issues. It is need of the hour to promote mutual relations in education, culture, trade and other sectors between the two countries," he added.
Iranian Consul General Muhammad Hussain Bani Asadi said role of both countries is very important for peace and prosperity in the region. He also said trade ties between Pakistan and Iran will create job and investment opportunities for both the sides. The political and trade relations were also discussed in the meeting and it was agreed to promote exchange of cultural and business delegations.
