Bride among five killed in wedding party attack

Five people, including a bride, were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on a wedding party in an area of Lower Dir in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, police said on Sunday. Officials said the incident took place in Lower Dir's Jandola Samar Bagh area where armed men attacked vehicles of the wedding party, leaving five people dead.
The bride and two other women were also killed as the wedding party was travelling from Samar Bagh to Tatar area. Police cited old enmity as reason behind the awful incident, adding that two people were also injured in the attack. The dead and injured were shifted to Lower Dir civil hospital. Police claimed that the attacker, who managed to flee from the scene, were hailing from Bajaur Agency bordering Afghanistan.
