37 places notified for holding public meetings

Sialkot district administration has formulated a strategy for holding fair and transparent election on five National and eleven Provincial Assemblies seats in the district said District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Shakeel Ahmed. Addressing the contesting candidates on National and Provincial seats here at Anwar Club he stressed upon the candidates that they should obey the code of conduct strictly and its violation would not be tolerated across the district.
It is heartening to note that election campaign is smoothly underway in all parts of Sialkot district.
Addressing to the meeting District Police Officer (DPO) Humayun Bashir Tarar urged upon the contesting candidates that no rally or procession will be allowed beyond the sunset for their safety and security. DPO stressed upon the candidates that they should direct their supporters to refrain from indulging aerial firing and possession of illegal arms and warned that strict action under law will be taken against persons found guilty as well as strict action would also be taken against the persons involved in wall-chalking.
The Political parties and candidates should convey their schedule of public gathering at least three days in advance to the district administration for formal approval accordingly and 37 places have been notified for holding public gatherings in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of the district he informed the participants. The District Police Officer said that district administration will take appropriate step for ensuring the law and order during the election besides the candidates would be allowed to engage private guards for the security purpose because of shortage police force we are unable to provide police security to the candidates in the district.
