Five members of a family found dead in DHA Karachi

Five members of a family including a man his wife and their three children were found 'dead' inside a bungalow in DHA Phase-4 in the limits of Gizri police station. The victims were identified as Abdul Jawwad Durani, 55, (head of the family) his wife Wajeeha, 45, and his three children; Rehan, 11, Arif, 4, and Arameen, 9.
On being informed, police rushed to the bungalow No 83/2, 3rd Commercial Street, DHA Phase-4 and recovered the bodies. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for autopsy. Police sources believed that the head of the family, who was chief finance officer (CFO) at Sanghar Sugar Mill, shot dead his family and later committed suicide with the same weapon. Police also recovered a pistol from the spot. According to preliminary investigation, it appeared that before committing suicide Durani shot his family members in the head, when they were sleeping.
Sources said that Durrani used to work at Sanghar Sugar Mill while his family was settled in Dubai. They had arrived here a couple of days ago. Police after collecting evidences from the crime scene sent these to the forensic division of Sindh police. No case was registered till filing of this report.
