A single bench of the Lahore High Court here on Tuesday removed objection raised by the registrar office on the petition seeking disqualification of former president General Pervez Musharraf (retired). The office had objecting the maintainability of the petition asked the petitioner to avail remedy from the appropriate forum.
The bench directed the registrar office to fix hearing of the petition before a full bench, already dealing with election matters. The former military ruler and chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) had challenged the rejection of his nomination papers by returning officer of NA-139, Kasur. An election tribunal of the court had also upheld the decision of the RO. Musharraf through his counsel submitted in the petition that neither he was convicted by any court of law nor the allegations levelled on him were proved true yet.
