Lawyer among four shot dead in Karachi

At least four people were killed in different incidents of violence in the city on Friday, police and rescue sources said. In the first incident, a lawyer, Shakeel Jan Advocate, his father Ali Ahmed Jan, 50, were injured in a firing incident by the unknown armed near the limits of Baghdadi police station.
According to SHO of police station, Shakeel Jan hit the police van parked at ICI Bridge, where police personnel found them in injured condition. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi where Shakeel succumbed to his injuries. He said that victims were not targeted in the police precincts. "They were shot and injured somewhere else," he said, adding that father of Shakeel Advocate was in ICU at JPMC. No FIR was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, a police head constable was gunned down near N-5 bus stop in the limits of Awami Colony police station. The deceased was identified as Orangzaib, son of Mohammad Ayoub, and was deployed at crime branch. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. A worker of MQM was gunned down near Paposh area in the limits of Paposh Nagar police station. The deceased was identified as Adil. He was activist of MQM Gulbahar sector. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, a body of a man was found in Sohrab Goth area in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till filing of this report.
