According to May 01 media report, while addressing party workers in Lahore the other day, PML-N president, Nawaz Sharif, asserted that "Pakistan does not need an immature leadership but a serious and experienced one which pulls the country out of crises like terrorism, corruption, loadshedding and unemployment, which have made the life of the masses miserable."
Suffice it to say that Nawaz Sharif never ceases to amuse ordinary Pakistanis with his laughable and intelligence deficit statements. The above one, as usual, is no exception. Both Nawaz Sharif's PML-N and Asif Zardari's PPP, each has had multiple tenures to rule this unfortunate country. Individually and collectively, both of them, with the tacit support and connivance with the sundry political scavengers, have taken the country to the cleaners and to the current crises state, where the nation, taken for ride by a bunch of corrupt to the core and genetically crooked politicians, stands at the verge of disaster and which, for all practical purposes, is a failed state.
When Nawaz Sharif had embarked on his political adventure, under the patronage and blessings of the most despicable dictator, Ziaul Haq, how much experience, except as a dictator's sycophant prodigy, of running affairs of a State, did he have and what good did he deliver? While charging on the Supreme Court, picking quarrels with the late General Asif Nawaz Janjua, unceremoniously sacking the then CoAS, General Jahangir Karamat or the moronic action taken by him to prevent landing of a PIA flight, carrying General Musharraf, how much 'maturity', did he display?
When he talks of "serious, experienced leaders", does he mean, "seriously incompetent, whimsical, matured crooks like the fake degree holders, tax dodgers, bank loan defaulters and the ones who have been on the take from the intelligence agencies, as evident from the famous Asghar Khan case and money launderers.
The nation has had enough of the so-called "experienced", self-serving leaders. It is time to induct the fresh blood that can bring about a sea change as to how the affairs of the State are run, corruption is got rid of and a real change in the country, for the nation's good.
