At least eight persons were killed in incidents of violence in the city on Saturday, police and rescue sources said. Five persons, including three women and a girl, were killed by unknown armed men who barged into their home in Fareed Colony, Sector 10 of Orangi Town in the limits of Mominabad police station. The deceased were identified as Nasreen, 50, her daughter Shazia, 30, Zainab, 30, Zainab's 10-year old daughter Zubaida and Zubair Khan, 28.
Police sources said that there were six attackers and the killings were motivated by personal enmity. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi. A man named Fahad,30, was gunned down in Landhi No6 in the limits of Landhi police station. The deceased was said to be affiliated with MQM-H. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Meanwhile an MQM worker was gunned down in the 100 Quarters area in the limits of Korangi police station. The deceased was identified as Wali Mohammad.
