Police investigators will face dismissal from service, reversion to lower rank and even booked for conducting investigation in careless manners. Additional Inspector General Police (Investigation) Punjab, Muhammad Usman Khattak, told APP here Sunday that police investigators found guilty would be served show cause notices for dismissal from service.
In case of any other negligence, the guilty investigator will be reverted to lower rank, he said adding that in minor negligence, his service for specific period will be forfeited.
He said on special directives of the chief minister Punjab and IGP Aftab Sultan, all police investigators across the province had once again been directed to conduct investigation on merit and ensure 100 percent recovery of stolen goods.
DIGs, SPs, DSPs, inspectors and other subordinates during investigation must personally visit sites of occurrence, record statements of witnesses and collect all relevant information required under the law.
Muhammad Usman Khattak said the accused if found involved in the commission of offence should be rounded up without delay and further loss of time and must conduct investigation strictly in accordance with law. He said injustice with any person could never be tolerated and it was duty of police investigators to deliver goods by providing relief to aggrieved people within the ambit of law.
