Ahmed Ali achieves highest marks in ACCA exam worldwide

Ahmed Ali has achieved the highest marks in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) professional exam world-wide for paper F9, with a score of 94. ACCA is the global body for professional accountants. It offers business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.
A record number of students around the world successfully completed their final exams in the ACCA examinations in December 2012 examination session. More than 7,200 students passed their final exams - a slight increase on the previous record numbers in June 2012, which will enable them to take the next step to ACCA membership. In all, over 198,000 candidates took almost 367,000 papers around the world, with more than 60,000 students sitting computer based exams.
Global high achiever was Ahmed Ali, who achieved highest marks in the professional exam world-wide for paper F9, with a score of 94. "On the face of it, the paper may seem to have a high amount of calculation in it, but nevertheless, it is important to understand the underlying concepts behind the arithmetic" said Ahmed Ali. A lot of topics in the syllabus are interconnected and it is important to understand the basis for these topics to be able to score a decent mark, he added. The examiner does not only want us to be able to produce a set of numbers, but also be able to evaluate them in the context of the prevailing environment, Ali said.
