District load management committee has decided that all the big and small industrial units would voluntarily close down their factories from Friday, May 10 (2pm till 6am till May 12) to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity on Polling Day.
Presiding over an important meeting of the district load management committee, DCO Najam Ahmed Shah said that this step would facilitate the administration to make the polls transparent and thus no hurdle would come in way for holding of elections in congenial and peaceful manner.
DCO said that in view of energy crisis the holding of general elections was a big task and challenge for us because the constant supply of electricity was essential in holding the general elections and collecting the results thereof. He said that we could achieve this objective if the industries voluntarily closed on the election and the next day. He said that the industrialists and labourers should cooperate with the administration for this national objective.
The leaders of industrialists, traders and labour leaders in their speech said that they are fully alive of the round the clock supply of electricity on election day. They however expressed their concern over the unscheduled load shedding in Faisalabad and stressed that the available electricity be distributed on equal footings and the distribution and schedule for supply of electricity should completely be adhered.
