An upward trend was seen on wholesale grain market on Thursday in the process of modest business just before the pre-election session, dealers said. On the cereals side, wheat (old) Bardan lost Rs 150 to Rs 3150, other items maintained overnight levels, they said.
On the grams side, gram 50x50 picked up Rs 100 to Rs 4700-4900, grams Dall 50x50 also gained the same amount to Rs 5700-4900, yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4850-5050, they added. On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh fell by Rs 50 to Rs 3450-3550 on lack of demand, they added. But, they said that prices may not decline sharply in the coming days in expectations of better performance by the new government. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (old) low type picked up Rs 100 to Rs 600 while the best type was unchanged at Rs 700, they said.
