Baloch nationalist party Jamhoori Watan Party-Talal (JWP-T) on Saturday afternoon announced to boycott elections after levelling allegations of rigging in polling. Nawabzada Talal Bugti, the chief of JWP-T talking to media persons here said that his party decided to boycott polling of general elections 2013, as their voters were not allowed to cast their votes at polling stations.
"We decided to boycott general elections, as our voters even women voters were beaten by supporters of rivals and they were not allowed to cast their votes in favour of JWP-T candidates in polling stations," he said. Nawabzada Talal alleged that Election Commission of Pakistan could not implement its orders in letter and spirit regarding providing protection to voters and that a foolproof security at polling stations so that voters could cast their votes without any hurdles.
He said that another aspect, due to which JWP-T went to boycott general elections, as internally displaced people of Bugti tribes were not brought back to Dera Bugti. It is noted here that about four candidates of JWP-Talal were in run for national assembly seats and about ten for provincial assembly seats in Balochistan.
