President Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Sindh Haleem Adil Shaikh and candidate on PS-129 (Karachi) has accused PML-N candidate Haji Shafi Jamote of rigging in the presence of Returning Officer adding that his armed men also beaten up PML-Q workers. Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Saturday, he demanded re-poling in PS-129 and announced to approach Supreme Court against Shafi Jamot and others.
He said that Jamote tortured Sara Mali, Additional Secretary Information PML-Q, and also beaten up other lady workers of PML-Q when they were making video on the spot. He termed the elections of 2013 as worst in the history of the country saying that few 'so-called innocent faces' of ECP have befooled the nation on the slogan.
"This time, government is going to be formed by 'culprits' and 'militants' as a result Pakistan will face worst time of the history in next few years," he said. Haleem said that not only the PML-N but some other parties were also involved in rigging in PS-129 as influential people have occupied the areas of this constituency.
He said that poling material were not reached at Ibrahim Haideri and other polling stations till after noon. He termed the officials of ECP as "guest actors" alleging that they did not responded to their complaints as they were being posted to support favourite parties.
On the occasion, Sara Malik, who was allegedly tortured by Shafi Jamote, told media that rigging was started at poling stations of Ibrahim Haideri from 10 am of the morning and around 200 armed men occupied the polling stations from inside. She said that RO handed over 400 ballot papers to the daughter of Haji Shafi and she came back and dropped these papers into the ballot box.
