Lahore's posh areas register high turnout

Posh areas register high turnout in Lahore General Elections 2013 on Saturday, as voters in these areas thronged to polling stations in a large number to cast their votes. Long queues of voters were seen in the areas of Defence, Model Town, Cantt, Cavalry ground, Gulberg, posh housing societies. There was much enthusiasm among voters standing there, as they had to wait for hours to cast their votes.
The voters of these areas, who are eager to bring change in the country with the strength of their votes, said they are here to fulfil their national obligation. They said the country was facing manifold challenges and only sincere and dedicated elected representatives can resolve issues posed to the country as well as countrymen. An elderly person at Defence polling station told this scribe that he is casting his vote for the first time amid high hopes from elected government which will take charge as a result of May 11 polls.
