Former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and central leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), Amir Haider Khan Hoti, secured a NA-9 Mardan constituency. Hoti has become the first candidate from the party to win a National Assembly seat in general elections that saw a robust turnout of 60 percent. Imran Khan's PTI almost demolished its opponents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
ANP chief Asfanyar Wali and former minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour have lost their seats.
