Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday resigned as Vice Chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) over what he described as his failure to give satisfactory performance for the party in Multan. He said that all political parties were part of the government, but only PPP was subjected to criticism, he added.
Gilani said the public rejects us on behalf of our performance and it has nothing to do with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Pakistan people's Party has some reservations about the election results but we acknowledge the result, he said. Affordable electricity could be generated through coal, he said, adding that the Punjab government did not cooperate with the Centre on electricity issue. There is no bar in the Constitution for a provincial government to generate electricity, he added.
