Fire victims: LDA to pay double amount to bereaved families

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has doubled the amount of compensation being paid to the bereaved families of 24 victims of fire incident at LDA Plaza and decided to give Rs 1 million to each of these families. According to a spokesperson on Tuesday, LDA will also take care of injured persons in the incident and a sum of Rs 100,000 will be paid to each of the three severely injured employees while the seven officials receiving minor injuries will get Rs 50,000 each.
In order to provide reasonable jobs to the qualified children of the deceased employees, LDA will seek special permission from the Punjab government and a summery will be forwarded to the Chief Minister, Punjab, for this purpose at the earliest. In recognition of the remarkable services of Zafar Khan, an employee of a private organisation, LDA will award him a prize of Rs 500,000.
