Fake academic certificates: LHC orders proper inquiry

16 May, 2013

The Lahore High Court has directed Secretary Health Punjab to conduct a proper inquiry into allegations of fake academic certificates against the petitioners' employees of Lahore General Hospital. Petitioners Sarfraz Ahmad and others stated that they were respectively appointed in 2007 and 2009 and later regularised in 2012. They said after the regularisation the respondent authorities issued them show cause notices to produce their academic documents and they responded to the notices duly.
The petitioners said the respondents alleged that their documents were bogus, however, did not give them any opportunity to respond to the allegations. The court after hearing the petitioners in detailed directed the respondent to seek replies from the petitioners to the allegations of fake degrees and conclude the inquiry within 60 days.
