The Federal Board of Revenue has intensified its efforts to improve revenue collection in May 2013 and called a revenue monitoring meeting on May 18 to check revenue estimates of field formations for the current month. The meeting is part of the overall efforts of the Board to meet the revenue collection targets in the remaining period of 2012-13.
Meanwhile, the FBR has decided to convene Board-in-Council meeting on weekly basis to discuss the policy and operational issues of tax machinery. Sources said that the Board-in-Council meetings would be convened by FBR Chairman Ansar Javed to discuss tax policy related issues.
