Speaking at a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, PML-N contender, Naek Amal said that the polls were not held in free, fair and transparent manner in the constituency NA-40.
He held the Election Commission and administration for failure in keeping fairness and transparency in the electoral process. Accompanied by his supporters Sadar Nazar Din, Malik Gul Naeem Wazir and Liaqat Ali and others, he said that masses opinion was hijacked by rigging the polls. "We will not accept such results and elections, in which democratic norms completely ignored, he warned.
He alleged that Election Commission and administration had not taken sufficient measures to hold transparent and fair elections. He said that ballot boxes at a number of polling stations had unsealed and replaced votes by forcibly expelling the polling staffs. "No action was taken against the allegedly rigging in the NA-40 despite informing it to local administration and ECP staff, he regretted.
