In a bid to woo independent candidates in Sindh, a delegation of PML-N met anti-PPP Sherazi brothers of Thatta and invited them to join the party. Sources said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Jaffar Iqbal Gujjar and Rana Mashood contacted Shafqat Sherazi and his colleagues who have won NA and PA seats along with Malkani community in Thatta. After the meeting, sources said, five of the Sherazi group members agreed to join hands with PML-N.
The group gave a tough time to the PPP, but despite it PPP leader Awais Muzaffar Tappi, widely believed to be foster brother of President Asif Ali Zardari, succeeded in bagging PS-88 from Thatta. Meanwhile, it is also learnt that Pakistan Muslim League-Likeminded chief Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has decided to join PML-N.
