The Supreme Court on Thursday gave five days to the attorney of the Lal Masjid affectees to submit para-wise reply in response to Lal Masjid Commission report. A three-member bench led by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, comprising Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry was hearing the petitions of Lal Masjid affectees.
The bench issued directives to the counsel for the affectees, Tariq Asad, to file the detailed reply regarding 19-point recommendations of the Commission's report. During the proceedings, Asad submitted that some more important points needed to be included in the report, arguing there was no mention of those names in the report who were behind the Lal Masjid happening. To this, the Chief Justice pointed out that it was not a final report of the commission but contained mere suggestions and recommendations. Later, the hearing of case was adjourned till May 21.
