Jimmy urges projection of soft image of Pakistan

Prominent artist, social crusader and peace activist Jimmy Engineer has stressed dire need for projecting soft, positive, moderate and progressive image of Pakistan and its people in every possible manner before the comity of nations.
Talking to group of journalists here on Friday on his return home after paying a goodwill visit to Dubai in connection with his upcoming solo paintings exhibition, Jimmy said that people from all walks of life going abroad on official, private visit should ensure that they present such positive and soft image of their motherland before the comity of nations as this is direly needed under the prevailing circumstances.
He said on his part, he has lately been organising and in the process of organising more, bigger and solo international exhibitions of his selected art work in different countries around the world for presenting and projecting soft, positive, moderate and progressive image of his motherland through his art. He said this has been quite productive and purposeful exercise and people in foreign countries have started having more information and knowledge of Pakistan and its people.
Jimmy Engineer said that recently he had displayed his selected art work in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Singapore quite successfully and he has plans in hand to organise at least six to eight more such solo international exhibitions in the coming months. He said that these solo shows of his original paintings and canvass prints of his selected art work will be held in a number of Middle East and Western countries including Thailand, Singapore, Canada and Dubai.
Replying to questions about his activities as a social crusader, Jimmy said that he was pioneer in organising fun, fare and awareness programmes for the special children and has held more than one hundred such programmes for physically handicapped and mentally retarded children over the years within the country and abroad including Karachi, Lahore and Sri Lanka. He said that he has dedicated his life to bring smiles on the faces of the special children by taking them to posh hotels, restaurants, clubs and other places and serve them good food and entertainment.
