Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday said the ongoing heat wave is expected to continue during the current week. "The prevailing severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue in the plain areas of the country till Friday," says the PMD in its fresh weather advisory.
It says that the daytime temperature is expected to soar by one degree centigrade to 3 degree centigrade in Punjab and Sindh during the next two days. It forecasts scattered dust-storm with isolated rain/thundershowers in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. It says the thundershower is likely to minimise the intensity of continuing extreme heat spell during the weekend. Jacobabad was the hottest place during the last 24 hours with simmering 50 degree centigrade of temperature.
