A large number of ambassadors, diplomats, elites and music lovers of the twin cities attended and enjoyed a wonderful musical evening organised by the Islamabad Marriott Hotel in collaboration with Mausikaar Trust on Thursday. The evening was a combination of joint performance of Tabla, Dholak and Matka, and vocals.
The beautifully decorated Crystal Ball Room of the Marriott further added colours to the performances. The General Manager of the Islamabad Marriott Jan Verduyn apprised the guests of the main features of the hotel's outlets and upcoming activities for all ages.
He also mentioned that the hotel will continue to contribute towards the promotion of the traditional music of Pakistan and other countries. Shazia Ismat, the Secretary General of Mausikaar shared with the audience the objective of the Trust. The first performance was of Muhammad Ajmal on tabla, Jeevey Lal on dholak and Malik Sikandar on Matka. They performed various trills and truly mesmerised the audience, especially the expatriates. Ustad Mehfooz Khokar enthralled the audience with classical, semi-callasical, and kafi renditions.-PR
