26 May, 2013

Vietnam's May coffee exports are estimated to have fallen 46 percent from a year ago to 110,000 tonnes, or 1.83 million 60-kg bags, slightly above market expectation, the government's statistics office said on Friday. Coffee exports between October 2012 and May 2013, the first eight months of the 2012/2013 season, have dropped an estimated 5.3 percent from a year ago to 1.08 million tonnes, or 18.08 million bags, the General Statistics Office said in its monthly report.
Traders have projected coffee exports this month to drop to around 100,000 tonnes from 110,800 tonnes shipped in April.
