Making applications run faster

27 May, 2013

Windows users can make programmes run faster by giving them a higher priority in Task Manager. This makes sense in the case of things like graphically demanding games. Call up Task Manager using the Ctrl, Shift and Esc keys and then select the Processes tab.
Right-click on the appropriate exe file and choose "Set priority." But here users should proceed with some caution: if the priority of an application is set too high the whole system could become unstable. In particular the maximum value, "Realtime" should be avoided.
