Managing Director of the Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) Tariq Khursheed Malik on Sunday demanded of the Federal Government to allocate Rs 6 billion in the next fiscal budget 2013-14 to meet expenditures for its current projects.
Talking to APP here on Sunday, he said the department has been facing severe problems for the last two years as it was difficult for it to meet its expenditure due to inflation and raise in staff salaries in the yearly budgetary allocation Rs 2 billion.
"We got a supplementary grant of Rs 1 billion to meet our expenditures. This time we have prepared an estimate of Rs 6 billion to run our projects without any difficulty," he said. Responding to a query regarding launching of new projects, Malik said the new government would take decision in this regard. "Politicians have to give the vision and the department will devise projects according to it," Tariq Malik said.
He said that projects like Child Support Programme, Medical Grant for Deserving People, Education Assistance for Needy Students, Financial Assistance to Destitute of Society have been working for the last so many years.
