'Youm-e-Takbeer' to be observed today

The nation will celebrate 15th "Youm-e-Takbeer" with zeal and zest on Tuesday (today) to commemorate the historic nuclear tests in 1998, that made Pakistan the seventh nuclear nation of the world and first Muslim state equipped with the nuclear arsenal. Besides special gatherings, rallies and conferences will be held across the country in order to mark the day with benefiting manner.
Special prayers will also be offered for progress and prosperity of the country. Pakistan had conducted nuclear tests at Chaghi, Balochistan during the IInd tenure of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister. This year, the day is being observed ahead of taking charge of state affairs by Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister for the third term. To mark the day, the PML-N and other organisations have chalked out a number of programmes in different parts of the country.
In Lahore, the PML-N President Nawaz Sharif will also address a gathering at Aiwan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan on Tuesday. Youm-e-Takbeer will be celebrated with zeal and zest at Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. The PML-N senior leader Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that May 28 is significant day for the Pakistani nation, as on this day the country's defence made invincible by conducting atomic explosions. Expressing concern over challenges posed to the country as well as countrymen, he expressed optimism that Nawaz Sharif through his Economic Strategy would help revive national economy and lead the country as a dignified nation.
