The Sindh Youth Affairs Department in collaboration with SHED organised a two-day health awareness training workshop. An official of the department said here on Monday that the seminar was titled "Disease free life is everyone's right." It was organised at the Youth Offenders Reformatory School, Karachi Central Jail here and was aimed to raise awareness among youth to help them adopt and promote preventive measures about general and mental health and living practices.
Creating awareness among the participating young offenders, the lead trainer of SHED, Abdul Sami Khan, highlighted various health problems such as Hepatitis, AIDS, coping with stress and emotions and creative and critical thinking. The organisers said that the young offenders took keen interest in the various topics of workshop and got aware satisfactorily about preventive measures and preventive strategies about different physical and mental diseases or disorders.
Provincial Deputy Secretary of the Youth Affairs read the message of the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh and Secretary Youth Affairs Sindh. On conclusion of the workshop, President SHED, Zaheer Babar, along with Assistant Superintendent Jail, Naveed Ahmed Khan, distributed gifts among youth.
