Prime Minister former Justice Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Sunday took notice of reports in the media regarding closure of Polio Cell at the Prime Minister's Secretariat. Reiterating his commitment to eradicate polio from the country, the Prime Minister reviewed his decision after a presentation by Federal Minister Dr Sania Nishtar on the implications of such a move on national polio eradication efforts.
The Prime Minister directed relevant authorities that necessary administrative directions be issued for immediate restoration of the Polio Cell at PM Secretariat to its status before his caretaker government took office. The Prime Minister affirmed that the health of our children was very close to his heart, and that high level commitment was necessary to eradicate the paralysing disease from the country.
