A woman and her nephew were arrested on Tuesday in connection with an attack on a Pakistani diplomat and his driver in New Delhi. Zirgham Raza, the First Secretary Pakistan's High Commission in New Delhi, and his Pakistani driver Haider Zaman were allegedly assaulted by unknown persons on Monday. The Pakistan High Commission in India has lodged a strong protest with the Indian authorities over the incident.
Media reports suggested that the Pakistani diplomat was "chased by a motorcycle", after which he and his driver were assaulted by "10 to 15 persons". On Tuesday, reports suggested that two persons involved in the attack had been apprehended after a case of "rash and negligent driving" was registered against them in connection with the incident.
