Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah while appreciating the team work of the Fata Development Authority and the Pakistan Stone Development Corporation in making remarkable progress on development of Momand Marble City project, has desired that pace of progress must be maintained to make it fully functional within the given timeframe.
Presiding over a meeting to review pace of progress on the project, situated at a short distance from Peshawar, at Governor's House, Peshawar on Wednesday, the Governor also took keen interest in development of scientific system for re-utilisation of stone wastes, commonly known "mali" and desired that proper system needs to be developed to convert it into concrete and compact blocks.
Chief executives of FDA and Pasdac, Fida Muhammad Wazir and Ihsanullah Khan respectively, while briefing the Governor about the salient features of their achievements in carrying forward the development work on MMC within a month, stated that they took start from almost zero level and had already achieved almost 65 percent targets.
"Against full payment made to Tesco for establishment of grid station at the industrial area, deployment of machinery and installation process is in full swing and same is the case in respect of water supply line; development of underground water tank and construction of road network both within the industrial area and the approach roads," the Governor was informed.
Similarly, it was added, development of 11 KV feeder line to connect the site with the 132 KV Grid Station, situated at Warsak and installation of two high powered electric transformers as part of internal electrification system has also been completed, it was added. Beside, the governor was further informed that the machine equipments imported for exploration and development of marble mines on scientific lines has also been deployed to the respective site and the FDA is now engaged in development of infrastructure facilities at the Momand Marble City with complete ownership and making remarkable progress. Talking on a point, the Governor also desired to chalk out timely plan to meet subsidiary requirements especially for promotion of greenery and social security needs at the industrial estate.
