The social media site Snapchat has released iPhone X-exclusive AR Snapchat Lenses because of the phone’s TrueDepth front camera.
There are three lenses introduced by the app and are only available in Apple’s iPhone X because of the phone’s TrueDepth front-facing camera feature. The three lenses include a Mardi Gras-esque Mask, gold-plated eye cover and a Day of the Dead skull.
Snapchat’s new update will let you add 16 people to group video chat
The Verge reported, the company claimed that the lenses should reflect the surrounding light more realistically and that the TrueDepth camera will also make the background blur along with applying minor details and 3D objects to the snap by following the face movements. The lenses would be able to change dramatically based on the lighting producing effects such as shadows, highlights and contours of the face.
The lenses were initially previewed last September during Apple’s iPhone X launch event but, not much was known about them until today, when Snapchat finally decided to release them after a long wait of seven months, reported Mashable.
