A cargo volume of 42,257 tonnes comprising 39,557 tonnes of import cargo and 2,700 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 303 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 39,557 tonnes includes 29,986 tonnes of furnace oil; 1,328 tonnes of phosphoric acid; 4,452 tonnes of chemicals and 3,791 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 2,700 tonnes includes 1,340 tonnes of roro and 1,360 tonnes of containerised cargo. There are two ships namely CV Kerstin-S and MT Stolt Viking with containers and furnace oil sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours. A total number of six vessels viz CV Resolve, CV Kerstin-S, MT Stolt Viking, MT Water Preeze, MT Akaki and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, roro, furnace oil, chemicals, phosphoric acid and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as two ships namely CV Wan Hai-602 and MT Ocean Coral with containers and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There is one vessel viz MT Ocean Coral with palm oil is expected to take berth at Liquid Cargo Terminal on Saturday. There were no ships are due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
