Punjab cabinet to take oath today

The new 14-member Punjab cabinet will be sworn in at the Governor's House on Monday (today) by Punjab Governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood. Officials told Business Recorder that the new cabinet will also include five advisers to the Chief Minister. Former law minister Rana Sanaullah will be senior minister in the cabinet. He is expected to be given the portfolio of local bodies.
Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, a businessman and a close friend of Sharif brothers is likely to get the Finance and Taxation Ministry whereas Zaeem Qadri is likely to be given Education Ministry. Ashfaq Sarvar will get the portfolio of forestry, fisheries and Zakia Shahnaw is likely to retain her previous ministry - women development and social welfare.
Khwaja Salman Rafique, the younger brother of Khwaja Saad Rafique, is being appointed as the Adviser to the Chief Minister for Health, sources said However, political observers said that Shahbaz Sharif would have to expand his cabinet after members of the treasury benches formed pressure groups, seeking ministries.
