Due to fast melting of snow over the mountains after increase in day temperature, the water flow in the mighty Indus has touched record 2,72,000 cusecs in the month of June in a decade. The previous highest flow of 2,05,000 cusecs was in the year 2005 on June 12.

The water level in the dam has gone over 1460 feet with the storage of 2 MAF water which is also a record in the month of June. With the present running water in the Indus River, the dam is being filled by almost eight feet per day.
