The Lahore High Court here Wednesday summoned Deputy Attorney General for June 20 to ascertain that which institution is empowered to ensure standard of CNG cylinders. The petitioners, owners of different CNG stations, submitted that representatives of different institutions harass them under the garb to check the standard of the cylinders.
The petitioners' counsel said that the government different departments including Hydro Carbon Development Institution of Pakistan, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) and federal institution called Explosives Department were conducting raids at the pumps to check the cylinders' quality Appearing before the court, Deputy Attorney General Naseem Kashmir submitted that ministry Hydro Carbon Development Institution of Pakistan has nothing to do with checking of the cylinders. He said this authority rests with OGRA. The court, however, asked the law officer to appear on next date of hearing after taking instructions from the departments concerned.
