The capital police on Thursday arrested a person allegedly involved in the murder of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) special prosecutor, Chaudhary Zulfiqar. Police sources said that Margalla police arrested Umer Abdullah, son of a retired army officer, from a private hospital located in Rawalpindi where he was getting medical treatment after bullet injury. Police claimed that Abudllah was injured in exchange of firing between the accused and Ferman Ali, guard of Chuadhry Zulfiqar.
Sources said that the accused, Umer Abdullah, has connection with Punjabi Taliban and a student of LLM in Islamic University Islamabad. Police shifted him to Adiala Jail, they said. Some unknown assailants riding motorcycle had killed FIA special prosecutor in Benazir Bhutto murder case, Chaudhry Zulfiqar, on May 2 in sector G-9 when he was on his way to the court.
