At least nine persons were killed in different incidents of violence in the city on Sunday, police and rescue sources said. A man was found dead in the limits of Saudabad police station. Police officials later identified the deceased as Dalil, 30, son of Lal Buksh, adding that he had left for his home on Saturday evening and his body was found the next day. Police said that deceased was shot once in his head.
An alleged Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) activist, identified as Sher Alam alias Shera, was shot dead outside his home in Kunwari Colony in the limits of Pirabad police station. Police said that he was killed because of "internal disputes". SHO Pirabad said that deceased was the "deputy commander" of TTP in Kunwari Colony and adjoining areas, including Manghopir and Sultanabad. He was TTP's finance secretary and also responsible for holding 'jirgas'.
A worker of MQM named Asghar Ghani, 45, was gunned down in New Karachi's Sector 5-G in the limits of Bilal Colony police station. Police said that deceased was a worker of MQM's Unit 140-A. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Two men named Ashiq and Yousuf were killed and three others injured in a firing incident during a wedding ceremony near Murtaza Chowrangi in Landhi in the limits of Sharafi Goth police station.
Police identified the injured as Ghulam Mustafa, his brother, Ghulam Rasool and Syed Salim. All casualties were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Meanwhile, a police Sub Inspector (SI), his brother and a friend were killed in a firing incident in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the limits of Sharea Faisal police station on late Saturday night
Police said that SI Adeel Elahi, his brother Atif Khan and a friend Adeel were killed near Rado Bakery.
