Two killed, nine injured in separate incidents of violence in city

At least two persons were killed while nine other sustained injures in separate incidents of violence in different areas of the metropolis here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate gunshots near Banaras Market in the limits of Pirabad police station.
Resultantly, a 35-year-old man, Asif Nawaz son of Muhammad Karam, sustained fatal bullet wounds and died on the spot. Police said the deceased hailed from Swat and might have been killed over personal ground.
Another man, Abdul Naeem, 50, son of Abdul Majeed, was killed in the limits of SITE-A police station. Police said the deceased, who hailed from Hyderabad, arrived to Karachi for eye check-up of his son. Police said that statements of deceased wife and taxi driver were different. Therefore, both persons were being interrogated to ascertain the facts.
In another incident, some nine persons sustained bullet wounds when unknown armed men barged into a cable office and sprayed a volley of bullets at Sharif Bazar located in the jurisdiction of Korangi Industrial Area police station. Police said that initial investigation suggested that there was a dispute between two groups over cable operations that led to the said incident. Further investigation was underway to ascertain the facts. No case was registered till filing of this report.
