Sufi Tabbasum remembered

Iranian Consul General Bani Asadi has said that Pakistan and Iran can collaborate in numerous academic areas such as technology, literature, art and research. Both countries have common literary and cultural heritage. Sheikh Saadi and Allama Muhammad Iqbal are equally popular in both countries. He was speaking at a function to remember renowned poet intellectual and writer Sufi Tabbasum here at Lahore College for Women University, (LCWU) Lahore on Tuesday.
The event was organised by Persian Department wherein Vice-Chancellors of host University and Government College University, Lahore, Director General Iranian Culture Centre, Muneeza Hashmi, Fouzia Tabbasam and Dr Zaheer Ahmed Saddique expressed their views about the personality and work of Sufi Tabbasum.
Iranian diplomat said that Iranian Government is very keen to uplift its women in all walks of life. Vice-Chancellor Dr Sabiha Mansoor said that Lahore College For Women University (LCWU) has great role in women development in Pakistan. "LCWU is also focusing to promote literature and culture. We have established institute of language and culture which is working effectively under the leadership of Professor Noushaba Farooq", Dr Mansoor added.
