Upward trend persists on grain market

Wheat and rice prices were higher on the wholesale grain market on Tuesday in the process of modest trading, dealers said. On the cereals side, Masoor Canada gained Rs 300 to Rs 7600-7700, wheat old Bardan picked up Rs 50 to Rs 3300, Moong Peshawar, however, lost Rs 125 to Rs 9250, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-9 Sindh low type was up by Rs 300 to Rs 5800 and superior variety was higher by Rs 350 to Rs 6000 in the process of slight increase in demand by consumers. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (old) low type was unchanged at Rs 650 and the best type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 800, they said. Prices were unchanged on the grams sector, they said.
