Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that matter of law and order in Karachi was chronic and inherited by the PPP government. He said that since the PPP was efficiently fighting with the terrorists and miscreants in Karachi and made achievements by arresting and prosecuting many notorious terrorists in the courts and added that operation in this regard was still in progress.
He said that PPP government would not take sigh until and unless completely root out the terrorists activities from Karachi. These views he expressed while talking with the media persons at office of Zila Council Hyderabad on Friday, where he along with other PPP leaders, including MPA Jam Khan Shoro, ex-provincial minister Zahid Ali Bhurgari, Vice President PPP Hyderabad Ammanullah Siyal, Abdul Jabbar Khan, PPP leaders, Shagufta Jumani, Ali Mohamamd Sahito, Yamin Soomro and Aftab Khanzada participated in the birthday celebrations of Shaheed Muhatarma Benazir Bhutto and to donate the blood for Thalassemia patients.
Responding a question about dateline giving by the federal government for rooting out terrorists' activities from Karachi, the Sindh information minister said that the PPP government not have a magic stick to root out the chronic menace within a limited period.
He said that huge quantity of arms and ammunitions were dumped at Karachi since the era of former dictator Zia-ul-Haq, who according to him promoted the hater, crime in his own interest.
He said that the matter was very old and chronic one, it will root out with the help of centre as well and added that he was optimistic that PPP to overcome on the issue with the help of other stakeholders. Responding another question, the Sindh Minister for Information said that the matter regarding division of Sindh was being propagated by those who are against the brotherhood and unity in Sindh. He made it clear that neither there was provision nor PPP to allow anyone to divide Sindh or curve another province from its land.
Responding a question about the fate of assassinators of Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto, the Sharjeel Memon said that previous government of PPP investigated the matter thoroughly, deeply through national and international agencies. Consequently in the light of these investigations arrested and prosecuted the identified killers and now it was up to the Judiciary to decide for justice and their fate.
He said that we had also approached to the judiciary for re-opening and re-hearing the case of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and still we are waiting for. While responding on other question about protests against the budget 2013-2014 presented by Central Government, the Sindh Minister for Information said that present budget presented by federal government has brought tsunami of dearness in the country.
He said that the increase in sales tax would lead to the high inflation and discourage indigenous export and industry. While responding on another question about the MQM participation in the government, the Sindh Minister said that it was up to the MQM leadership to decide.
We have invited them to join government, now they are free to decide. The Sindh Minister for Information said that the history of PPP was full with the struggles for restoration of democracy, basic rights of the people and the sacrifices of lives and properties rendered by its leaders and workers. He said that it was because of that people of Sindh are proud to be the part of PPP.
