Three-day exhibition of women entrepreneurs concludes

Three-day inter-provincial exhibition of the products of women entrepreneurs under the joint collaboration of Women Business Development Centre (WBDC), Peshawar and Swat concluded here in a local hotel. The three-day exhibition was given the name of Summer Trade Fair III, as it was third consecutive event organised under the auspices of WBDC Peshawar.
Senior Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao was chief guest in the concluding ceremony while president, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Dr Yusuf Sarwar, president, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), Nuzhat Rauf, General Manager Smeda, Sultan Tiwana, provincial chief Smeda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Javed Iqbal Khattak and Project Managers, WBDC, Peshawar and Swat, Nabeela Farman and Shabana also were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, Senior Minister Sikandar Hayat Sherpao appreciated the efforts of Smeda and WBDC for the promotion of women entrepreneurship. He congratulated both Smeda and WBDC for promotion of such business-friendly activities in the province. He said the province is facing the problem of law and order and the holding of such activities will go long way in improving the image of the province. He said that women are 50 percent of the population and they want to bring them forward and enable them to play their due role in the economic development of the province.
Sikandar Hayat Sherpao assured that the provincial government will always encourage such kind of activities and even interested in extending them to regional level and benefit maximum number of women and create employment opportunities for them. Speaking on the occasion, president, SCCI, Dr Yusuf Sarwar appreciated the efforts of WBDC in the provision of business opportunities for the women entrepreneurs. He said that the secret of the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is in the changing of the mind-set and promotion of new and different initiatives. He urged the women entrepreneurs to come forward and join non-traditional businesses. He said that SCCI extending full support to women entrepreneurs in the promotion of their businesses. He said the women of the province have big potential and the only need is to polish and encourage their business activities. He also urged the women entrepreneurs for the positive utilization of social media for the promotion of their businesses.
The three-day exhibition was participated by women entrepreneurs from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Hazara, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and Peshawar. The variety of different products including; stitched and unstitched clothing, jewellery, Bed linens, leather products and much more were put on display in the event.
