Polish gas distribution monopoly PGNiG said on Wednesday it had started gas production at its Kirthar concession, the company''s second overseas production site. PGNiG, which sold 14.7 billion cubic metres of gas to end users in 2012, most of it from Russian pipelines to Europe, said that during test production the wells in Pakistan would provide around 100 million cubic metres of gas per year. PGNiG holds a 70 percent stake in the Kirthar licence, with the remainder belonging to Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. PGNiG also started production in Norway earlier this year.
