Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed serious concern over the environmental degradation due to human interference in ecologically sensitive areas in the territory. According to KMS, addressing a gathering in occupied Srinagar, the APHC Chairman warned that there was every possibility that tens of thousands of people could lose their lives if the puppet regime continued to remain careless towards the environmental concerns in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He referred to the devastation caused by flash floods and rains in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. "Such natural calamities are direct fallout of the ecological imbalance caused by the environmental degradation by humans," he said. Mirwaiz castigated the puppet administration for lacking a policy on Amarnath Yatra. He said that Uttarakhand tragedy had become a cause of worry in occupied Kashmir. "Like Uttrakhand, Kashmir too is a mountainous terrain and needs a careful attention towards preserving its pristine environs," he added.
The APHC Chairman pointed out that instead of devising an effective policy to preserve the fragile ecology of Kashmir, the puppet regime was hell bent to deteriorate it under a well-planned conspiracy. Mirwaiz said that Kashmiris had always exhibited communal bonhomie by facilitating the Amarnath Yatra. He said that 2008 and 2010 were the glorious testimonies to the fact that how Kashmiris safely transported the Amarnath pilgrims to the destiny and treated them as their guests. He also urged the puppet administration to release all the Kashmiri political prisoners on the eve of holy month of Ramazan.
