Business community representatives from various areas of Balochistan held a meeting at FPCCI Regional Office, Quetta to discuss the issues and possible solutions for promotion of trade and industry in the province. The meeting was chaired by President, Pishin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Naseebullah Khan Tareen. Among other senior businessmen, Akbar Khan Kakar, Najam Barech, Ali Gohar Baloch, Syed Abdullah Agha and Fahmida Jamali were present, said a press release here on Tuesday.
The meeting praised the leadership of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) especially Chairman of Businessmen Panel at FPCCI and former president FPCCI, Tariq Sayeed, President FPCCI Zubair Ahmed Malik and Iftikhar Ali Malik for supporting and strengthening trade and industry in the largest but under developed province of the country.
FPCCI's Quetta Regional Office has been playing a very active role in this regard, it noted. The business leaders called for especial support, incentives and facilitation to local and foreign investors in Balochistan to bring this province at par with other ones on social and economic fronts. They urged Balochistan and Federal Governments to ensure better law and order situation in the province as it was pre-requisite for trade and industrialisation.
The meeting underlined the need for establishing more chambers in the province at district level. On the occasion, the business leaders from Balochistan appealed to Director General of Trade Organisations, Federal Ministry of Commerce to play its part in re-constitution of chambers in this province which would help to resolve the problems of the business community from this backward region.
