Leaders of opposition parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly here on Wednesday urged the PTI-led government to immediately withdraw the decision regarding sacking of 400 employees from departments of livestock and agriculture.
The issue was raised by a woman MPA from PPP. While speaking on point of order, Nighat Yasmin Orakzai said the step was anti-employees, which could create great unrest among the employees, therefore, she urged the government to take back its decision immediately. She said that justice should be provided to the livestock employees.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly met with Deputy Speaker Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi in the chair here on Wednesday. Endorsing Nighat Orakzai, JUI-F's lawmaker Munawar Khan said it was an injustice with families of those employees, who had been removed from services by the government, adding that a committee should be formed to resolve the issue.
ANP's parliamentary leader in the KP Assembly Sardar Hussain Babak said that MMA had employed at least 3,000 people on adhoc basis, however, when ANP came into power, they were not removed from their services, but they were regularised on their services thus it was demanded of the PTI-led government to rethink and restore those sacked 400 employees of livestock and agriculture department immediately.
Responding to the questions raised by the opposition parties, Provincial Minister Yousuf Ayub on behalf of concerned minister said the government would adjust those employees if there were any chance. He, however, said those 400 employees who had been removed were working in a project with the livestock department and now that project had been concluded.
On her turn, PTI MPA Zareen Zia said PTI had claimed to bring a change in education sector, and now PTI was in government so that change should be visible, adding that admission at medical college be ensured on merit. MPA Abdul Moneem said there was a complete loadshedding in his constituency and called Pesco to ensure power in their area immediately.
